A Christmas Carol

The Fantasy of Lights at ZooMontana
|
|
I’m not sure what happened, but I think somebody has been messing with my calendar. It was July just last week, and now I’m being led to believe that Christmas is just a couple of weeks away. How can that be? I guess there’s nothing to do but enjoy it.
And Custer Country is full of things to enjoy this time of year. Whether it’s the simple pleasures of driving around any of Custer Country’s towns and cities to view the innovative Christmas displays, attending a community Christmas concert or watching any of the many parades in towns big and small, Christmas in Custer Country is a great time of year.
If your travels take you to Billings, there is more formalized and elaborate entertainment available. The Fantasy of Lights at ZooMontana takes you through a wonderland of animated Christmas decorations and ends with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. (Rumor has it that Custer Country’s Vice President, Renee Christiansen, and her husband Lee are instrumental in making sure that the Clauses appear on schedule each night of the event.) The $10-per-car entry fee supports the Easter Seals children’s autism services and runs from December 12-27.
What Christmas would be complete without seeing a version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol? Alberta Bair Theater is staging a Charles Jones’ adaptation of the famous tale of redemption presented by the Omaha Community Playhouse on December 19 at 7:30 PM. Contact the theater for information about
ticket availability.
And don’t forget the Christmas decorations in Laurel. The town’s businesses and residents go all out to present one of the best Christmas light shows in the state. Just 12 miles west of Billings, it’s worth a special trip.
From the Board of Directors and staff of Custer Country, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. |
