The Treasure County 89'ers Museum started in 1989 with the renovation of a building on Hysham's main street. Local history is being preserved with displays and exhibits including an early day soda fountain that has been restored and is open on special occasions.
Located across the street, the Yucca Theatre and Manning Home are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Renovation of the Yucca Theater has been completed and movies are shown on Sundays with plays and other entertainment scheduled throughout the year.
Local sculptor, Bob Schulze, has sculpted statues of Sacajawea, William Clark, Pomp, and the Hunter. These statues are on the lawn of the Yucca Theatre, along with a white buffalo and a wooly mammoth that were completed in 2008. A saber tooth tiger will be added in 2009.
